A Thank You Message from Haynes Street School Parent Teacher Organization


As the school year comes to an end, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents and staff members who helped to make this an amazing year!!  Many of you tirelessly gave your time and energy to attend and volunteer in supporting both our “FUN RAISERS” and our FUND RAISERS.  Through your support, we were able to raise approximately $46,000 in what continues to be very challenging economic times.   This would not be possible without each and every one of you. 

The PTO has been able to allocate funds to support the school in ways that the LAUSD budget has come up short.  Below is a list of how the net proceeds of funds raised this school year will be allocated, all of which help subsidize the wonderful learning experience of our children:

·       Teacher expenses:  Our hard working and caring teachers, who have no choice but to dip into their own wallets to make their classrooms function properly, will be reimbursed a portion of their expenditures. (approximately $3,500) 
·       Physical Education:  Funds raised from the walk-a-thon (approximately $4,000) will be applied to keep the physical education program in place for the 2012-2013 school year.
·       Classroom workbooks and planners:  These are not supplied by the district (approximately $7,000)
·       Transportation:  This covers the ever important off campus field trips (approximately $4,200)
·       Technology:   Computers, printers, software, etc. for 2012-2013 (approximately $4,000)
·       The remaining balance of net proceeds will be passed to the 2012-2013 PTO to allow continued support of “The Best Little School in the Valley”.

It has been our pleasure working hard to bring enrichment along with a little fun to all of the students, teachers and staff.  Haynes is a wonderful school because of each and every one of you!  We have “handed the torch” over to the new PTO board who will continue to work hard to serve the Haynes community.

We wish you all a relaxing and fun summer!  And remember, the Ice Cream Social will be held on August 13th!!!
